Netflix show about young seamstress from Spain

Dh is out of town for work this week, so I was searching through Netflix for something to entertain me after work and I stumbled upon a show called "The Time in Between". It is in Spanish with subtitles and I have watched the first 3 episodes and am really enjoying it. It follows a young girl who grew up working alongside her mother at a dressmakers shop. I also watched a very corny and crazy Bollywood romance called Diwale. I really don't know how to explain that one! lol!

Feel free to share your recent Netflix faves :)

Not a Netflix, but good........Yellowstone.......on paramount network...seems a new channel on Comcast cable. It is a modern western...very adult situations and language, but plot line is good...and scenery is awesome and Kevin Costner is star.....

There is a series called Merli. It's filmed in Barcelona. It's about a Philosophy teacher working with high school kids. It was so good we watched it twice! It's subtitled so you have to pay attention but oh my, it was wonderful.

I'm re watching The Office episodes. I forgot how funny and real that show was. It's been so long since it's been off the air the shows are new to me again.

Janelle, thanks for the mention of the seamstress in Spain. We love foreign films and it sounds like a good one. My husband especially loves them. My only problem is that when they are subtitled I can't do any hand sewing lol :)

I got hooked on "LarkRise to Candleford" series ,an Amazon Prime tv series.I am now in season 4. Most of the folks did'nt have electricity yet, or any modern appliances -Ah, the days were much more simple than now.It is very enjoyable to watch as there's no foul language in it,nor not a lot of violence.

My sister loved that series! I will watch it after baseball season is over. Thanks for the reminder.

I watched about 10 minutes of this series while having my breakfast.

I will be watching this in my sewing room while I work in my next project.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been wanting a new series to watch since I finished Downton Abbey last year. I'll check this one out.

I know Susie Q. I like to cross-stitch, but can't with the subtitles. I just finished watching the very last episode and it was soooo good. I loved the series. :)

Janelle, my husband and I watched Downton Abbey twice, and loved it even more the second time. He rarely watches anything more than once. But I love to. We really enjoyed that wonderful series.

Alias Grace on Netflix is good and has a lot of quilts in it and How to Make an American Quilt on Netflix is a good movie.

Just watched The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on Netflix this weekend.
It was excellent. :)

I had that book but couldn't get into it. I don't remember why. Maybe I'll see the movie, thanks!
Last week we watched Silver Linings Playbook. I loved it the first time, then I read the book, and re-watching it I didn't like it as much. Why do they have to change things? That sort of bugs me. I like it when they keep to the script.

JanelleTrebuna 08-21-2018 12:18 PM

I agree. I almost always like the book better than the movie.
