If you "opt out" you're not really opting out of getting ads. It will opt you out of relevant ads for you, which means you'll get all kinds of ads, "some in different languages."
So it looks like ads are here to stay. I just read an article about that yesterday in our newspaper. To try to cut down on ads, use a different search engine other than Google. They track you.

I get that on mine too, I just ignore it. I also get "3 friends defriended you". I don't do facebook, never have, never will! I just laugh about it, and think that's nice, didn't know they ever "friended me" to begin with! LOL!

I see it too once in awhile. just something else to ignore.

What cracks me up is when the ads start popping up according to the name of the thread you are reading. If the thread says "Dresden plate quilt", some ad regarding dinnerware, or cooking pops up!

Sometimes someone will send you a personal message wanting an explanation to something you may have posted. I have received several.

I did click on it and yes it's a come-0n. I immediately got out
and "unsubscribed."

It is an advertisement.
