New Sewing Room In New (To Us) House

We recently sold our home in So. CA and moved to Yakiima, WA. We were looking for a house and we had a wish list. On it was a woodworking shop and large garage/shop to put DH's tractors in (he was storing one at his sister's and one at a friend's), and a sewing studio for me. In our CA house, I had the large back bedroom as my sewing room, I also stored stuff in the guest room closet, I had a machine set up in the family room so I could sew in there if I got lonely in my sewing room, and I had my fmq setup in the living room. DH had his woodworking shop in the garage.

We found a house with a 1200 sq. ft. shop perfect for DH's tractors (and then some), and a woodworking shop (the seller was a woodworker and had a shop built off the house, it's climate controlled and has a garage door so equipment is easy to move in and out), and next to that shop is a 14'x25', 350 sq. ft. room that was the kid's playroom, with SEWING STUDIO written all over it!

DH has been retired for 8 years, I retired July 1st, this is a new chapter in our lives and we're so excited that we got so lucky to find such a great new place to live!

That sounds like such a wonderful house! My boyfriend is a woodworker too and he is working out of the garage which means my suv is out in the snow all winter. Dream house for us is a separate wood shop for him and a bigger sewing/craft room for me. Enjoy!

Sounds like you found the perfect place for both of your hobbies! It just doesn't get much better than that.
