New use for batting scraps

I have a pile of batting scrap strips from squaring up quilts prior to binding (don't we all?), and it' so cold I can feel frigid air coming in around my doors....so....brainstorm! Those strips are just the right size and stuff into those spaces like magic with a butter knife!

I use those scraps under my swifter mop.

I use squares of batting as glasses cleaners and to clean the screen of my iPad and iPhone.

You can use batting scraps in stuffed pet toys, teddy bears, insultion in window tracks, behind outlet covers(just need to cut holes for plugs), under mop boards between floor and board with a putty knife, cleans window screens, dryer lint screen, shred it up into smaller pieces for birds nesting material, small decorative pillows, pin cushions, polish mirrors etc.,basket liners, seat cushions.

I save some for if and when I just need a few inches more around a quilt. I can usually not include it in the quilt itself. Just need to have it for the excess. My Daughter uses them for pillows. I have sewn pieces together several times to make full battings for quilts.

I noticed some dust bunnies (well, they were more like dust elephants) behind my sewing table. I took my longest ruler and a batting scrap and swooshed them away!

the bigger squares of scrap i back with flannel or minky & make cat beds for the animal shelter..i keep a small wastebasket in my sewing room & throw in the trimmings of the tops & threads & leftovers...when its full i take a flannel pillowcase i fill it & drop that off also at the animal shelter...its washable or when it gets too dirty, they can just throw it away, but some shelter animal enjoyed it for awhile...its amazing how fast it fills up...its fun to walk thru the shelter & see the pets enjoying the beds ive made....monica in texas

I usually use my batting scraps for mug rugs or hot pads. Today I have been frantically looking for some, for a rag square quilt. Finally treated myself to the rag cutter plate from Accuquilt It was on sale at Joanne's.

My insulbrite scraps and other batting scraps are currently wrapped around my water pipes outside so they didn't freeze.
