I have a Dyson Ball that my son got me a couple Christmas's ago I think its great so lightweight and easy to maneuver, and the fact the there are no bags makes the work so much easier> Mine is a refurbished one and we have had no trouble at all with it and its half the cost of a new one

that's for sure... i have long hair & shed like a st bernard in july...so does dd & ddil.... the oreck sucks everything up & you get a free tune up every year...

I, too, have wood floors with some tile and rugs. I bot the Meile canister. What ever you buy - make sure you can turn the "brushes" OFF on the powerhead, otherwise you scratch the heck out of your wood. Do NOT ask how i know this! lol (NOT!)
