Boy, I have to tell you, 4 year olds can certainly try a person's patience. He found a hose and decided to clean his sneakers. They were soaked, it is 6:30 at night and the only pair for school. So, after soaking up as much as I can with stuffed newspapers for two hours, I was not looking forward to the klunk, klunk in the dryer. Walking past the over - I realized it is a GAS oven, with a pilot light - oven stays just a little warm, no real heat. So, I put the sneakers in the oven - upside down and by 6:30am they were dry.......the look on the kids face when I pulled the sneakers out of the oven. Hey - ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

Good idea, I dry mine in front of the refrigerator where the motor blows the warm air.

Way to think outside the box.

You can tie them together by the laces, then put them over a hanger. Now hang the shoes inside the door with their laces over the door and the hanger on the outside of the door. Close the door and the shoes will be hanging on the inside, held in place by the hanger on the outside.

I usually stuff wash cloths inside to absorb the extra water, then set them in the sun to dry in the summer or warm days. In the winter I use the wood stove or the dryer after they have dried out some.

My friends husband did this for his golf shoes once only he didn't tell his wife because he thought she would yell at him. Well, she did yell at him because he had to 'fess up when she found grass in the bottom of the oven !!!!!
