Well, apparently my children have found a couple of new ways to use lemon scented starch..I needed to starch some fabric, went looking for it..and could not find it..So, I asked my children..and lo and behold, my youngest son had it..Asked him why and he said, "it makes my clothes smell good"..Come to find out, they are also using it as a room freshener..They like the lemon smell..Guess, I am going to have to switch my starch  ..There is nothing wrong with the way their clothes smell or their rooms..they just like the way the starch smells..Never thought I would have to hide my starch..Knew I had to hide my scissors, but never my starch

That is sooo funny! Kids will keep you young!
You also have to watch the basketball players. Starch on the bottom of the shoes helps prevent the skid on sudden stops.
Get them some Lemon Pledge, but explain to them that it can only be used on furniture, and the smell REALLY comes out if they rub it into the wood really well :).
Also, make sure they know it can be used in ANY room in the house!!! |
Do have pledge but they found out that rubbing that little strip of cloth with the pledge on it..requires work..So much easier to just lounge around smelling lemon fresh  ..Just joking, they actually do help around the house  (for the most part)
Thats too funny.
Kids can be so creative in finding new uses for household items!
It never ceases to amaze me, after 30 yrs of teaching 6th gr., how kids' minds work...enjoy their creative minds...they grow up so fast!!!   Naomi

Also, make sure they know it can be used in ANY room in the house!!! Let them use it and maybe they won't realize they are doing their chores. I wish I would have thought of that when my kids were still at home. Would have saved my self a bunch of headaches and tantrums (mine).........LOL |
Love it! At least they are using something that smells good!
LOL I love how kids minds work :D:D:D

Just asking, but how old are your children

You gotta love them!!! They are so creative and they grow up much too fast. I love the way their minds work without all the other stuff to clutter up their imaginations.

Keep a stiff upper lip
Very cute, but has anything in their rooms gotten more sticky or stiffer, like hair, bedding, or clothes! :)
LOL You never know what thryre thinking.
That's funny! I have to admit I like the smell of one type of starch. It seemed almost like a mood elevator. After I had starched some fabric one day, I noticed I felt more motivated to sew and just happy to be in the sewing room! Must have been the scent!
LOL

This is so funny. You know, Kids will be kids and mother's will always be mother's. Why not buy them some lemon air freshener.

Please don't misunderstand me. The person who had the problems has not had it for 40 or more years. I am saying huffing didn't start recently.
