Not missing at the nursing home
1 Attachment(s)
Someone posted recently about a quilt gone missing at the nursing home despite the recipient's name being quilted in the quilting. Well, about 20 years ago, my grandmother was in a home and I'd heard about things going missing. She liked red and sunshine. So I knit this for her... it never went missing :)

Great Idea:)
That is just great!
That is hilarious! It must have been a lot of work and you are obviously a super knitter! Your Grandma must have loved it, I know I do.
I love it! That is fabulous. No one would dare take it.
Ha, ha. I love your solution!!! great idea and it evidently worked! my sister was evacuated from a therapy place due to a hurricane coming and the quilt i made her was gone when she went back. duh! she should have evacuated it too! ( i had embroidered her name in the quilt too-bet someone was surprised).
lol.... that is toooo funny! Great job!
Great Idea!!! I bet she loved it!
Now that was a very smart idea.
So SMART of you. A great thing to do. I made my Father in Law a quilt with his name all oiver it. Never got lost either.
I work in a nursing home and you would not believe some of the stories. Both good and bad about employees and families. Yes things come up missing. Once it was a vacuum cleaner. If there is no name on an item, they go to lost and found--check there. Go to social services or housekeeping supervisor and lodge a complaint, they will help to look for it. You would not believe the amount of things that land in lost and found that remain unclaimed.
Funny and smart all at one time! It's amazing that you could knit her name in like that - bet she got a kick out of it!
That's hilarious!!! Love it!!
What a great way to make sure it never gets "lost".
Great solution!!!
That is AWESOME!
Great idea & knitting. No way something like this would go missing.
Wonderful job! What a great idea!
I love your great idea!
Ha, Ha - that's a good one. Also a good thing you didn't miss spell any thing - hee, hee, hee. You might have knited it, but it shows you to be a QUILTER at heart. We do know how to make things work, and make some thing out of as little as a name, fav. color, etc..... You did good and I am sure your grandmother loved it.
Smart idea!! And a great security system.
OUTSTANDING! LOL Now if we could just figure out what to put on their dentures!!!! I worked at a nursing home, in the alzheimer's/stroke ward ---- the dentures kept getting moved around!!!!!
Such a clever idea! I love knitting words into to my creations.
thanks, all for your kind comments. i love the dentures post - maybe the makers of dentures could take a hint and 'tattoo' the name on them where not seen when worn
That was a brillant idea.
Very smart! LOL.
smart idea! :)
Priceless! :)
