Just a simple reminder here. Please don't put your personal information on the board such as e-mail, phone numbers and home address. Remember the members here are not the only ones who read the board. Please use the personal message for these things. Let's try to be safe while chit chatting on the QB. The only reason I say this is because I just read a thread where several ppl put their info in a post. You can ask a moderator or admin to delete it.

I agree, I think people get comfortable with the familiar faces and forget it is a public place. I cringe when I see people post personal info....

I agree with you both on this, better safe then sorry

Thank you, cjomomma! I always come off like a turd when I point out safety first. You have more tact. :0D

Every post on this board comes up in search. Pretty quickly, too. I said something in a thread the other day. Someone looked up what I had referenced within hours and it (what I said and not what I was referencing) was #1 in search.

There are cuckoos and con artists everywhere. Take a page from Hill Street Blues: "Hey, let's be careful out there."

Okay, thanks I will ask them to remove it. I forgot. and I'm old and stupid. Bless yer hearts. (that's what we say down here to tone down a statement, ya know.....bless yer hearts!)

This also applies to everything we post - some of what is posted is very very personal - and can be read by anyone anywhere anytime.

Don't want to scare/prevent anyone from venting - but just think ahead before pressing the "send" button.

If you have posted something that you have second thoughts about, Admin or a moderator can delete it for you.

I hope I haven't said anything to personal but if ever I do...someone let me know!! Seriously! We get so carried away in the moment of the subject and say Lord knows what all and before ya know it, the world knows!

Thanks for bringing that up CJ!

We tend to think of ourselves as a quilting family and forget that this is an open forum. I can't even count the number of times that I've googled something and this board has come up because of the same words that I've done a search on are in a post.

Generally speaking, I think I enjoy this forum more than I enjoy most of my family!

Definitely have more in common with many of the people here than with many of my family members.

If/when you do contact Admin or a Moderator about any post, include/copy the http: address so he/she can locate it.

I second that!
