Note to Self

I am moving today and I tried packing with some old quilt magazines. BAD IDEA, as I was trying to tear pages off to wrap around glasses, etc. I kept getting distracted by the patterns and the packing took me at least twice as long and I had a stack of torn out sheets of future projects. I am hopeless. Good news is that the new sewing room is at least twice as large as the current sewing room!! Can hardly wait to get all this junk into the new place and get unpacked so I can go back to sewing. Back to work.

Hope all goes well with your move and I am so jealous of your extended space.

Here is a quick pic of the current sewing room. The space between the window and the wall is the same on the other side and I am standing in the door. Behind me is about another foot or two. And they call this a bedroom. Closet in this room is 4 feet wide maybe. Alot of my fabric is in tubs outside under tarps (I know but you do what you gotta do). New place has a medium size walk in closet and SO MUCH MORE space. Hurry hurry get this day over.

I keep all my magazines as my taste changes over time.
With file cards I go thru each mag and write which patterns I like and a short description the pg number etc.
This way I can scan the cards and find what Im interested in making.
When I run out of room to store them I don't know what I will do. For now they are in cardboard mag holders and on shelves.
Also if I don't like any patterns in a mag at least I can get rid of that mag.

Good luck with your moving. Hope the gremlins talked about in another thread don't hide your things.

HAHAHA I would be putting the quilting ideas in one pile in the box and using the advertisements for packing !LOL

Perhaps not the best idea you ever had, but you did get your job done and you had a good time too! Win/Win

This happens to me as well. The worst is trying to get rid of books and magazines and starting to read them and decide to keep them!

Moving is a job, but with new, larger space it'll be SO worth it! Best wishes for your new home!
