Off to the Circus

This is not a quilt but one of my latest sewing projects. My husband was the master carpenter for the sets for a local theater production of "The Miss Firecracker Contest". They needed a circus tent for the second act, and somehow that became my project. The final "tent" was 16 feet wide and 15 feet long. Not "hard" to do, just took a while to do with all the sewing, tugging, etc. it took about a week but the director was very pleased with the final look, so I guess it was worth a week out of my more fun sewing time. Moral of this story...don't let your hubby get involved in local theater. You never know what your next project will be! But it was fun in the end and I'm glad I did it!

My major in college was technical theater arts and I was always the one picked to sew the painted backdrops. FINALLY I was made the master carpenter on a major production at college and I assigned my boyfriend to sew the painted backdrop. Both of us were pleased with the results of his stitching.

Well done!

Very well done! I understand your thoughts. I've always done all sorts of costumes for my bunch but now don't want to any more. Some of them are now making their own, but DD still is wanting me to make her this or that piece of RenFaire garb. At least she was able to sweet talk Dad into buying her a new corset!

Very nice. Sewing skills are always handy.

from what I could see, it came out great.
also, don't let your kid volunteer you. in kindergarten, my son said i'd sew the teacher's kids costume.
thankfully, she knew I was a busy single mom and didn't ask me.
