I just put mine up :) A little plastic one, but I just couldn't wait any longer! Anyone else put up their tree early?

I put up my tree on Dec 1. It is also an small artificial tree. I put little white lights on and glass/plastic sparkling ornaments. Also with a timer so the lights go on at 4:30pm just as it is getting dark. It is in my sunroom that has glass doors to the dining room so I see it as I pass. You can see it from the road and I hope those traveling home enjoy it.

When I take the kids to school in the morning there is this house on the corner that has had their little tree up. I'd say it's been up maybe 2-3 weeks.

We put ours up the day after Thanksgiving.

Sadiemae 11-13-2010 01:47 PM

I have seen three houses with lights in the neighborhood, I thought it was a little early though. I don't put up a tree for just me, but I love the houses that are decorated!

Not until atleast the day after Thanksgiving :D:D:D

T-Bones mom 11-13-2010 02:35 PM

Definately not until after Thanksgiving. We might not put one up this year as we are raising the dog from hell. She would use it as a chew toy. It is 7 foot tall but that would not stop her. But I love her dearly.

I will put mine up after I return from Thanksgiving weekend after visiting my mom in Virginia. It will probably have to be the small 3' tree this year because of my two furbabies. It will be their first Christmas, and I'm absolutely positive they will think it's been put up for them to play with!!  The tree will sit on a table, and I know they can still get to it, but at least I won't have a 6 1/2' tree getting toppled over! :? I'll also have to be careful which ornaments I put on it!

Mimito2 11-13-2010 02:54 PM

Here in Red Neck country we leave our lights up all year long. LOL.
My sister has a gorgeous tree decorated in one of a kind hand made Victorian ornaments that is on a dolly. It gets rolled "out of the closet" each Thanksgiving. I can't blame her. I would not want to wrap all those pcs to store it.

Not until after 8th December.

DebsShelties 11-13-2010 03:19 PM

Mine will go up sometime in the next two weeks - before Thanksgiving. I love to decorate.

sunflower126 11-13-2010 03:45 PM

I decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving. My hubby goes to the mountains with his friends on Fri and comes back Mon night for deer hunting. Other than not having help to move things around, I like having no one around to interrupt me or to worry about feeding etc.

cherylynne 11-13-2010 06:10 PM

We'll start it probably the week before Thanksgiving because we are going to Florida for the first part of December. I want to have it done and enjoy it a little before we leave for vacation.

CarrieAnne 11-13-2010 06:11 PM

I loveChristmas trees. Mine will go up on Thanksgiving night, lol!

Jingle 11-13-2010 06:29 PM

Probably the weekend after Thanksgiving. It is such a bother now days, no little ones live here. I use to decorate the house when the kids were still here and then when Grands were little. We have Christmas Eve here and I will decorate my pre-lit tree and take it down Christmas Morning, just Hubby and I will be here by ourselves.

trisha 11-13-2010 07:32 PM

YaY!!!! My DH put the Christmas Lights up outside today. Tomorrow the tree goes up and will decorate by Wednesday. Only doing it this early this year because my brother is coming on Thursday. We are celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas together. Can't wait!!!

Edie 11-14-2010 04:14 AM

We put our tree up the Saturday before my sister's birthday (Dec. 20) and take it down the day after my husband's birthday (Jan. 3). Works great for us. Edie

First Sunday of Advent when I also start my advent centerpiece on the table. I also put up my manger then too.

leonajo 11-14-2010 08:36 AM

Last year I had all 5 trees up by now ( stupid I know ) because it took so mch time. This year I feel Hum-Bug and am only going to decorate the one tree on Thanksgiving weekend. I may get it out and fluffed today but keep it in a spare bedroom....This year, with the economy so bad for so many people, it feels wrong to go overboard....

Kathryn2 11-14-2010 08:54 AM

We have our little 3 1/2 foot tree on the dining room table since last year. I'm not able to do what it takes to fix a regular tree, so this one has to do for us. Before my husband died, we had two huge trees and lots of decorations around everywhere before Halloween. The living room furniture was turned upside down and plywood on that and a big Christmas scene was all over. My daughter, Debbie, and I live a much slower and contended life now. Last year I had severe health problems and just cut shapes out of paper and made cones from tin foil. It will be just fine for us this year too. I do miss the Christmases we used to have but age and health have taken over. Debbie is 48, retarded and epileptic so "home" is where we are most of the time. I hope some of you will post pictures of your trees, we never get our fill of Christmas. Debbie is watching Christmas videos now. Blessings to all. Kathryn

I have one of those skinny, rustic trees you leave up all year. I change out decorations on it. Right now it's loaded with leaves for Thanksgiving but we did put wreath's on every window this morning. It's a relatively nice day so we got it done before the snow flies.

luv-e 11-14-2010 10:57 AM

Putting up the tree this week. I take Chemo the 1st. of every month and if I wait till after treatment.....well I'd be putting it up and taking it down the same time.... lol lol
I'll really get to enjoy it this year and see how blessed I really am........I Pray that everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!!!!

Honey 11-14-2010 11:08 AM

We already have our outside decorations up, because the weather was so nice last week, but they don't get lit until Thanksgiving night. Our tree goes up the first week of December and stays up until Epiphany, January 6. Our Nativity will go up the weekend after Thanksgiving. That is always the first thing out and then comes my Christmas village and my Christmas plates. Little by little the other stuff goes up until we put up the tree.

Gatormom3 11-14-2010 11:10 AM

Hopefully, ours will go up the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Having an artificial tree allows us to put it up earlier than we used to - still prefer a real tree, though.

Lostn51 11-14-2010 11:32 AM

The day after Thanksgiving for us, and the lights will follow if not I might start putting them up this week if I can get a break in weather and work.

Now the Christmas wallpaper and Firefox toolbar has been up for the last two weeks on all of our computers. And I was just reminded that we are going to have everyone over Thankgiving night to watch "A Christmas Story" and Christmas Pictionary. So my house will be a mad house to say the least.

Billy
