Well, I was out watering my parched plants when I got stung by a wasp on my heel. My foot is swelling up even with all my usual precautions I use to prevent that. I guess tomorrow I will just have to prop up my left foot and sew with my right foot. What a shame :cry: :lol: :roll: :oops:

So sorry to hear that, I hope it heals quickly. My MIL used to slice a piece of onion and tape it to the sting area. It is supposed to help with the pain. Take care.

Mom used a baking soda paste for us kids. Evidently we weren't terribly allergic. My husband swelled something awful and was told to immediately take a Benadryl and get to a doctor ASAP. I hope you aren't in the latter category of allergic reactions. An allergic reaction, if severe enough, can lead to your throat swelling so much that you can't breathe, so be careful in the future.

That's a new one... Well, I don't have an onion in the house. But I put meat tenderizer on after I put "after-bite" on it, which is just ammonia, I believe. And I took a benadryl. I'll be fine. I think it was really an excuse to have to sit still and sew one of my UFO's.

Yes, I am fairly allergic, but since it is on my heel it has a long way to go to get to my throat. I fixed the nest real good, though. My daughter got stung last weekend coming up my steps. My heel is already swollen up to my ankle, but the pain is going away.

My grandma always broke an egg and pulled the skin out of it and put it on any kind of sting, mom always make the baking soda paste and put it on them.

Chewed/wet/soggy chewing tobacco works for hornet stings!

WE use a cut potato or meat tenderizer on stings, I have one son that is allergic to bee stings he had to carry an epi pen when he was a child.

Goodness! Take care of that sting. Nature can be so mean.
