i have this ruler for years and never could figure out what the upper right 3 in sqr with the tiny sqrs are used for can anyone explain? thanks http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/NOTI...-5-X-6-5-RULER

The square is marked in eighths. I have used it to trim off 1/8 " slivers from small blocks. I don't know any other use for it.

I use it for cutting very small units/pieces accurately.

I like the 1/8 inch grid.

Thanks, MandyRose, for asking this question. I don't have that ruler but I have a different brand and I didn't know that irritating area had 1/8" markings. Lol!

thanks for your replys, i only use it to center machine emb. designs for 6 1/2 in sqrs.
