Ouch!
 

Oh my that's horrible! My sis-in-law stepped on a threaded sewing needle once. It went completely into her foot except for the thread. She figured she could just pull it out by the thread. She tried and tried but it wouldn't come out so finally she went in to get an xray. Imagine everyone's surprise when it revealed the needle was actually in her foot the threaded end first!

Maybe I will have to get over my habit of sewing barefoot!! Those stories sound painful!

I read this earlier today and couldn't believe it!

Saw on one of the non-fictional medical tv shows a girl who dropped a needle, knelt down on her knees and ended up with major surgery to remove the needle from the joint capsule (deep down inside) of her knee! Ouch! I use a long stick magnet to pick up dropped pins/needles (got mine at Harbor Freight).

Ouch! is right! I just did the same thing to my left index finger at the nail level....with my longarm! I said a few choice words but pulled my finger back just in time to prevent a "bone stick"...and didn't get any blood on the quilt I was working on! Ripped the nail (of course) and I have a black hole where the needle went in...but I'm happy! Guess I need to invest in a needle guard for my machine, huh!

Ow, ow, ow, ow, OW!!!! Oooo, sick to my stomach......

Oh my ouch is right!

My cousin stepped up onto the back of a sofa when she was about 10 years old. Her mother was darning socks (yea afew decades ago). She had been told to quit jumping around on the furniture. My aunt used the sofa as a pin cushion when darning while watching her soaps. Forgot about the needle and cousin lept onto the couch and rammed that darning needle through the middle of the foot right in front of the heal. The needle only had about 1 1/2' of thread on the end. Only a small bit of thread was sticking out. They pulled on the thread and only the thread came out. Yep to the ER and surgery to remove the needle. She had nerve damage and was never able to pursue her dancing career. Cousin was old enough to know better but to this day she blames everyone else if things don't go her way. Oh well!

A friend of mine did something similiar but stepped on a toothpick. We just never know what dangers can lurk around us!
