Mimmis57 08-30-2013 03:32 AM

How can an animal be so beautiful and destructive at the same time?

Stitchit123 08-30-2013 05:57 AM

Eeny-Meeny Mighty Moe which of these apple's has to go : ) -My brother and SIL have apple and cherry tree's. Plus a 1/2 acre garden and the deer come by for breakfast every morning they wait ever so patiently for the apples to ripen. When they first moved there some 30 yrs ago she would get out and chase them away but now she figures they got to eat too and they can have the bottom of the tree's and she has even planted the deers favorite munchies along the fence line to keep them out of the garden. She has been trying to figure out how to convince the birds to leave her enough cherries for pie's- jams and the freezer. Her Bird Whispering skills are not as good as her Deer Whispering skills. -So far she has been a big disappointment to the family. - We hold a family meeting every cherry picking season and we always give her anther year to fine tune her skills . LOL

You are too funny. As for Mr. Deer, he is beautiful.

Jingle 08-30-2013 11:16 AM

Deer get hungry too. You will be able to keep the ones higher up on the tree. Maybe he will only eat the ones that fall on the ground. Can always hope. Our neighbor has an apple tree and just lets them fall and rotten. My Husband and I eat an apple 5 days a week and have to buy ours.

quiltyjax 08-30-2013 12:49 PM

He's beautiful.

jbj137 08-30-2013 12:54 PM

He has had his veggies,
NOW
he wants his apple dessert.

EllieGirl 08-30-2013 12:57 PM

Beautiful!!! How gorgeous to have that in your garden, instead of pesky bunnies!

ube quilting 08-30-2013 03:21 PM

Full velvet, gorgeous. I have 2 moms and 2 fawns coming to feed but no bucks yet. I know they are around but not showing themselves.
That tree is magnificent. Do you use the fruit? How old do you think it is?
peace

mumzer 08-30-2013 06:25 PM

They also like to check out my pear trees.

Painiacs 08-30-2013 06:57 PM

They are beautiful!! They stand at the edge of our property to see if that noisy lil dog is out then proceed!!

Retired Fire Chief 08-31-2013 04:49 AM

Oh, he is so handsome. I haven't seen any bucks in a while but I have seen moms and babies all summer. Last evening a doe and her baby were grazing beside the pond in the front of my house and I watched them walk into the edge of the water and get a drink. Simply beautiful! Gives me a real appreciation for God's gifts of nature.

Rose_P 08-31-2013 05:25 PM

Sweet picture. Looks as though he and his buddies have already taken any apples that were on lower branches!

mjhaess 09-01-2013 01:16 PM

He is beautiful...What a treasure seeing that on you property....

wolph33 09-02-2013 05:38 AM

we have had the pleasure of watching him since he was a little spotted baby

jhoward 09-02-2013 06:00 AM

I assume he's been eating well. You will have less produce to put up this fall. The deer have eaten my SIL's cabbage, as well as other veggies.

bjrusty 09-12-2013 09:03 AM

Looks well fed lol Barb
