We found Nanna a year and change ago and brought her home. She was not in good shape. We loved her, and she loved us. She did get better. And grew some new feathers and an attitude. Then she got sick and never got better. Her heart was enlarged. She passed at home in my daughters arms. We miss her so much. She was almost 21 years old.

she was so proud on her cage top

Sorry she's gone-glad she had such a good life with you. My sister has something like 8 birds-people know she will rescue them or take them in - she can't say no!!

How nice that you were able to give her a good home. Sorry for your loss. Parrots have quite a lot of personality. Bet you really enjoyed the time she was with you.

I am so sorry for your loss...my uncle and aunt had an African grey parrot for at least 30 yrs....but "Thacker" was definitely my uncle's bird...he even talked in my uncle's voice...lol...when my uncle passed away, poor Thacker started to lose all of his feathers around his neck...the vet said he was pulling them out due to the stress of losing my uncle...well, Thacker hung in there, but then a few years later, my aunt at 89 yrs.young passed away, and it seemed that poor Thacker just couldn't take losing them both...it's amazing how much our pets love us...Naomi

PS...I forgot to tell you to read a poem called, I believe, The Rainbow Bridge...it tells you that you will once again meet up with all of your pets when you pass away, they will meet you at that bridge...it gives you the comfort that knowing that they are well and happy, no pains or diseases...it makes me cry everytime I read it...so, have tissues ready...Naomi
