Out of the mouths of babes...
 

Willow, age 4, is surprised to learn that Grandma is older than 18. She ponders this for a moment or two, looks up from her colouring book and asks, "Grandma, are you almost dead?"

To add insult to injury, the very next day she asks me if I 'lived on the earth' when 'dinosaurs lived on the earth'. NOT rofl.

Thinking of going back to colouring my hair. Sheesh.

What has your offspring's little offsprings said to you lately?

When the Flintstones were new on TV, my dad had me believing they were their next door neighbors when he was a boy.

Unfortunately I don't have any grandchildren yet and my great niece and nephew live 1300 miles away. But they do tell their friends that their Uncle Steve lives at Disneyland and can hardly wait to visit him there.

My grandson and I had a friend who live just down a little ways from us. She lives alone and one day he was in the car with me and our friend was walking crossing the street as we were coming up the street in the car. I said " there is betty" "She is Getting old". He SAID TO me Why don't they put her to sleep? Then i had to explain. No No We don't do that to humans.

One day when my GD was about 4 we were looking at pictures. She pointed at one and said, "That's when you were pretty." The picture was fairly recent so I didn't take it as that much of an insult.

I have 2 nephews who a few years ago were 10 and 4 . I had been shopping and the till assistant asked them if they were helping Granma. Two cheeky grins and a very loud yes .
After that anytime they were asked the question they always said yes. Being 21 years older than my sister in law I suppose I do look like granma, I certainly was doing their job.

Speaking of out of the mouth of babes, well my GGS has been WORKING HA HA with his Papa this week as school is out , he is 6yrs ,my D@GD came home from work he was just standing around doing nothind, my D said to him arn't you supposed to be working his responce " well I don't work shifts YOU KNOW" in other words any thing else is not in HIS job description. he has knocked knocked off.

when my grandson was about 5, we were playing ball. Of course he was the batter and I was pitcher and catcher. After a whole lot of me chasing the ball, I told him we had to quit for a while because grandma was "too old and fat" to chase the ball. He looked at me and said "grandma, you're not old".

I wear a lot of old tye-dyed T-shirts. My favorite one is the one from my oldest brother from Woodstock. My 10 yr old GD wants to know how old she has to be, before she can be a Hippy. She now has quite a collection of tye-dyes of her own. And she loves making them with my SIL and me. She plans on being the first hippy paleontologist.

I had my daughter convinced I was 16. Then I sent her to school and they taught her math. Funny thing, at 45 on her last birthday, and with a 15 year old daughter, she is now 23.

When he was 10 years old, my youngest asked his dad if he had been in a war. Hubby said yes, he had been. Son thought about it for a moment, then asked " revolutionary or civil ?" The same sweet child told me not to dye my hair because he didn't want me to be pretty, he wanted me to be mommy. We let him live.
