Ok, this works, its what I do. I have a canon printer and it uses up the ink so fast! The last two times the magenta color ran out, I dripped water on the hole where you can see the sponge and stuck it back in the printer and it continued to work. When the same color ran out again, I did it again and it worked again. Don't know if it will work for the 3rd time! I figured if I can still see color in the cartridge there still must be ink left, so far so good! Works for me, hope it works for you. Lace

I bought one of the ink refill kits and use the syringe to put a few drops of water in the cartridge. I can go for a long time before refilling with ink. I use the same cartridge over and over for so long it quits working before the ink runs out.
I've gotten so good at refilling I don't have to wear gloves and do it right over the printer, takes me about a minute to have it out and back in.

can you do that with other printer inks? i always thought they were NOT water-based. silly me. i have an epson and i stopped buying new cartridges immediately. they take back the used one and sell you manufacturers cleaned and refilled ones from the factory at 1/2 price. if you don't return one, they charge full price. it's at cartridge world.

When I print out things, I usually only print black and draft quality. It sure helps with saving some ink.

Didn't have luck with Cartridge World at all. Their ink was awful in my HP printer. The black was green. Wouldn't use them again and it wasn't that much cheaper than buying the real thing.
