OXY clean -another good word

one of my cats threw up a hair ball during the night on my pink and white plaid summer spread. I put it in the wash this morning and sprayed it with oxy clean and spray n wash. used Tide too. It went into the dryer with the sheets and I didn't notice until I took them out that the stain was still there. I sprayed oxy clean on the area again along with spray n wash and used some spray n wash that came in a bottle with two spout openings. Then used two scoops of Oxy clean detergent powder. That evidently did the trick. I put it out on the clothes line to dry and it looks fine now. whew!!! its always come clean before so I didn't look before using the dryer. but from now on, I will.

Good job! Putting it on the clothes line probably helped, too. Sunlight bleaches out a lot of stains. I found that out when my kids got fruit juice or spaghetti sauce stains on their clothes.

Always a good idea to check on a stained spot to make sure it went away before putting it in the dryer.

I have sometimes forgotten to do so. :(

My five cats help me all the time and I have had to clean up after them many times :)

Thank goodness the stain came out. My very first quilt was for my daughter in high school. She had a beautiful cat that lived to be very old. She used that beautiful quilt as her litter box!!!! I didn't know what to do, washed it normally and that didn't do a thing. So I sent it to the dry cleaners. I never removed it from the plastic package and a few years later I dug it out to show a friend. Oh my. How embarrassing!!! The smell almost made us pass out!! I soaked it in my washing machine tub with Oxy Clean, rinsed it out then did it again. This was my last resort before throwing it out. WELL - - it worked beautifully. I rescued it and I'm so happy. Oxy Clean is my best friend.

Oh that is wonderful. goodness. we are told not to put quilts in plastic bags but before I ever made one, i'd purchased a quilt for $300.00 I think. put into a plastic bag and into my son's bathroom cupboard. It was in there a few years and fine. whew!!

I have used Oxy Clean to help with blue embroidery thread bleeding - after trying many other things. I helped lots. I love Oxy Clean.

I don't think I could exist without OxyClean powder and spray! I soak my whites in my washing machine with a couple of scoops of Oxiclean powder and they are white as snow. If I have stains I soak them in it as well. I make it a little stronger than the directions, depending on the stain and it has never failed me except on one occasion (My dil's knit top that the black polka dots faded on to the white part). I buy it in the 11 lb. boxes from Sam's Club. The smaller containers in other stores are too expensive. I usually add a scoop even to the colored clothes and jeans and they all come out much cleaner. I use my regular soap with the OxiClean.

I have even had stains that had gone thru the dryer come out with soaking in a heavy OxiClean solution. If you haven't tried it, you should do so. If the stains are severe, make your oxiclean solution like a thick syrup and then when you go to wash the article just add the oxiclean water to your wash so you don't waste it.

My two cents worth for the day. Hope everyone has a good day!
