P touch embellish machine

We need labels for our charity quilts for kids! Has anyone researched/ used the new ptouch Embellish for ribbon machine to know if it's cost effective? Right now we are rubber stamping ribbon and cutting it to sew on the quilts. Cost is a factor. Would appreciate comments

I found it here https://www.amazon.com/Brother-P-Tou...ouch+embellish
some thoughts: it runs on 6 AAA batteries! regularly replacing those gets expensive. or you can buy an electrical adapter for $16. you have to use the Brother ribbons/tapes... 5 pack for $17. For quilts for kids, i would want to sew those labels down securely... the ribbons seem narrow and fussy to do that.

If anyone in your group has a sewing machine with an alphabet, the labels can be made on the binding. There’s an excellent tute on here that shows how to do it. Not difficult and the label always stays with the quilt! :-)

I have this "machine". You have to buy the ribbon they sell on the cartridges - I haven't taken one apart yet to see if I can refill it. I used gold printing on a white ribbon. It worked really well. I don't know about the cost effectiveness though. It's a cool little toy though.

If anyone has an embroidery machine, they can check sites like embroidery library or secrets of embroidery or designs by sick. They all have quilt label designs you just fill in the writing and can use them whenever you need one.
