"peached" cotton?
 

Does anyone know what peached cotton is? While shopping for new sheets for my bed, I came across a set made of "100% peached cotton". The sheets felt soft with maybe a very very slight nap to them. I have never come across that term before and wonder what it means and how the sheets would wear.

Also, I have great difficulty in finding fitted sheets that actually fit our mattress. I don't think it is any thicker than most pillow top mattresses (plus a padded mattress cover) but I find the corner pockets on the sheets I buy - even the ones that say extra deep - rarely fit well. Always with the dog ears at each corner! Does anyone know a brand that really fits?

I don't have a thick mattress but I do have a problem with sheet corners popping up (DH thrashes around a lot!) I sew a wide piece of elastic diagonally across the corner (like from one edge of the elastic that is on the corner to the other). When you make the bed the wide elastic will be under the mattress. Also works well when the sheet elastic wears out but the fabric is still good.

Yes!!!! I have the same issue with my K size mattress. I just found a set of sheets at Target their brand I think, they are med green with darker green leaves on them, they fit great, however....my husband says they are too warm.

interesting. I never heard of this before, but it sounds like instant aging of fabric to be nice and soft. IMHO that would be nice for sheets, unless you are the kind of person that likes the feel of crisp sheets.

I've been using "sheet suspenders" for years. You put them between mattress & box springs & attach the suspender clips to the edge of the fitted sheet. I use 3 suspenders on my queen size mattress. They are adjustable to fit the width needed for your mattress.

I bought some Egyptian cotton sheets at Costco and they are actually to big for the corners. I use the sheet suspenders to keep them tight. They are soooooo soft too.

I take edge fabric from old sheets and add 1/2 yard to the bottom of my flat sheets. This gives me lots to tuck between the mattress and box spring and will not pull out also the top of the sheet will fold over the quilt or blanket keeping it clean.

Well, thanks folks, and why didn't I think of googling the term peached? I google everything else! I may try that set of sheets; it did feel very soft to the touch. I need sheets that can stand up to heavy wear and frequent bleaching (my other half is a very restless sleeper and perspires as well). That's why you only find white in my linen closet. Just hope they fit the corners; may have to try some of the other suggestions. Thanks again.

One of my friends broke out in a severe rash and had respiratory issues when her significant other used bleach on the sheets.

Is it a possibility that the bleach might be contributing to his restlessness?

Just seems to me the sheets, no matter the cost is just getting skimpy. They all make them with as little fabric as they can. Prices do not reflect the less fabric.
