I have a peach tree and I read an article where you can freeze entire peaches on a tray and then remove them after they are frozen put them in freezer bags. Then when you are ready to use them remove the whole peach and rinse it and put it in the microwave for 10-13 seconds and it is suppose to taste like tha day you picked it from the tree without all of the other hassles of canning them etc....

Oh, LUCKY YOU, to have a peach tree...I LOVE THEM! I really dont know about peaches, but you can do this with tomatoes....I do some this way. I would sure try a few, it would be so easy!
I do want to say though, the tomatoes are more mushy after being frozen, but good for chilli, stew, ect.

Interesting. I haven't heard of that.

ANYTHING is going to be mushy after it's been frozen.I'll bet they'd be good for icecream!

The instructions said that they would be as good as the day you picked them from the tree and that you would never do them any other way again.I have my doubts.I really should try it,but I have a big pot of them on now,so that will have to be done later.

They look delicious! I can't wait for peaches to be out in New Hampshire. I tried some local peaches for the first time and was amazed how good they were. Your idea of freezing them whole sound interesting.

Would love to give all of you as many as you could pick!! I am getting real tired of doing them.

I would love to hear how that works out for you!!!! I love peaches and they are looking pretty now! Thanks for posting.

I believe the best way to test this method is to do one and see what happens. They probably would still work in a cobbler if all else fails. It did say to do this when they are dead ripe.

I have never heard of this method for perserving peaches either, but I think I am going to do an experiment.

I love to eat peaches year around, but I definitely do not like the price of most frozen peaches.

Hey if all else fails, the results will end up in a smoothie.

If all else fails,I have a cobbler in mind.I hope it works.

Your so lucky. I love peaches. The method sounds good. If it doesn't work make pie.

When the blackberry's get ripe, try a peach and blackberry cobbler. It is sooooooo good!!!

I would sure tyr it too, they would be great warm over ice cream too!

I have a peach tree. It is defective. We've lived here 16 years and the peaches have NEVER made it bigger than 1 1/2" around and have never blushed, they just fall off and rot!!!
Wish I could get good peaches instead of just having to clean up a mess (It is beautiful when it blooms and provided great shade for the dogs)

I have done this for years. Only I just put them in a sink of hot water to thaw for a few minutes. The skin comes off so easily. It is not great for eating as a fresh picked peach from a tree because they are a bit mushy. They are wonderful though for cobblers or for using on ice cream or for making preserves. So do not expect it to be like a fresh picked peach just for eating. That is wrong for the article to say that. Anytime a fruit is frozen you lose that firmness.
