Amma, they are stunning pics, thank you for taking such lovely shots - the one that really worried me was the Ginko - I have two, growing not 10 feet from the front wall of my house!!!!! Mind you, by the time they get as huge as that one, I expect I will be long gone, so will the house.

What an awesome cemetery. It almost seems like a big park instead.

Beautiful. What a wonderful place to go and visit. Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful and peaceful place amma - thanks for taking time to share the pics. :D
Re the ginkgo, it's one of my favourite trees and is viewed as a 'living fossil' - it is largely unchanged as a variety for 270 million years. The tree dinosaurs saw is pretty much the same as we see today. I love this stuff, if anyone else is interested ( ) you can read more here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ginkgo Sorry for the hijack amma! :D |
The cemetery is awesome, how peaceful and the structures are amazing!

Lovely photos. Have you ever been in the old Lexington cemetery? It is quite beautiful; statesman Henry Clay is buried there. It is located off Main Street, few blocks away from the Mary Todd Lincoln home.

Fall is just starting to appear here in Louisville, they are just now getting low enough fall temperatures to start the leaves turning beautiful colors.
I am just visiting here, but I am assuming that they will have some beautiful fall colors by next week. Thank you for all of the comments!! k3n you cannot "hijack" my thread LOL I love it when additional information is added in by others! :D |
