I had a request for pics of my work. I don't do much with cakes anymore. I'd rather play with fabric. I have posted some pics in the past, if you wish to dig them up...

Thank you for sharing the pictures. How do you do the picture on the cake? It's hard enough on fabric. There has to be some kind of transfer? How?

You are really good.

Your cakes are great!

Bu I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread, but I just wanted to show the cake I made DD for her birthday.

How does one eat such a pretty object of art?

CarrieAnne 07-22-2010 03:59 PM

Wow, I LOVE the cat one!

I am envious of anyone who can make beautiful cakes like that. Thanks for sharing.

Those are sweet! - Are they fondant?

Cute cakes.

I love all of those!

You both have talent. I like the soccer ball as I have grandsons.

Thank you.
It is an edible image I bought from eBay. You just put icing on the cake, then lay it on top. I got mine a little crooked. This was my first time with the edible image.

Eating it is the easy part. Cutting it is a different story. I've had some really hard times cutting ones that have taken many hours to decorate.

My soccer ball is covered in fondant. The one with the image transfer is just icing under the transfer. The cat isn't mine, but it appears to be fondant.

Thanks to everyone for their comments.

Our Pastor's daughter does beautiful cakes with the foundant.

Hi Guys,

Thank you all for your comments and thank you to Buttercreamcakeartists for allowing me to hijack the thread. The cat is completely edible, right down to the edible "diamonds" in her collar. Even the pillows that she is sitting on are edible. I made it for DD as she loves cats. Believe me, the children had no problem either cutting or eating her!

I have made quite a few other... maybe I will post some pictures later!

Hugs

Caroline
