OK, I'm 51 years old and have never had this happen before! Probably comes from being single so long and not having kiddos LOL

I had a few hand towels, 2 tee shirts and 1 pair of socks and somehow a red pillowcase was hiding in there. DH says he will wear the pink tee in honor of breast cancer, LOL I could just throw out the socks and towels, but I have to at least try to get it out. It's bugging me that I did this!

Will the Shout color catcher help at this point? I didn't have any on hand but do now. When I took them out of the washer, I hung them to dry, didn't put them in the dryer.

I done that- put it back in again. It has taken it out.

My husband just doesn't buy anything light colored anymore....just in case :)

Don't wear red...lol.

No more pink laundry.

Oh No LOL Been there and done that too
I would think the color catcher and some bleach/dry bleach should take it out since it didn't go through the dryer

How about soaking them in some luke warm water with liquid bleach and soaking for a while before washing again. That has worked for me before. I personally think it is too late for the color catcher because the shirt already caught it all. Sorry!

Pink t-shirts is one thing, but I once worked with a man who had done his own laundry and had turned an expensive pair of blue jeans pink(very manly) he continued to wear them since he had done it himself I am sure it would have been a different story if his wife had made the error

I did something similar to my daughter's JROTC snow white uniform top. I was in a hurry and washed her pants and top together. Her top came out gray!!! I felt like the worlds worst mom!! She had to wear her top that day and did get fussed at by her commander.

I went to Walmart and found something by Rit Dye. It was a color remover/whitener in the laundry aisle. I followed the directions and her uniform top came out snow white again. I was so relieived!!!! I am now extremely careful when I wash her uniform.

Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!

Launder the clothing with four to six Shout Color Catchers and regular laundry detergent. You might have to do this twice, without drying in between. You will be ever so pleasantly pleased with the results.

My hubby ended up with pink kakhi dress pants the day before we were to leave on vacation :-( He phoned me at work and followed the above instructions to the letter :-)

We decided it was time to share a full box of Color Catchers with each child as we made the rounds during our vacation. They still thank us for the wonderful tip :-)

You go, Girl!

Try oxiclean....I think you will be suprised at the results. Use double the powder since it is a major color change....

you didn't mention what color everything was before it was pink. was everything white? if nothing else works, use my old friend, bleach. mother's little helper.

redkimba 01-24-2010 06:42 PM

I think that Rit's makes a dye remover - have you tried that?
