Need to make a pirates costume for my husband and myself, for a party this weekend. Any good ideas on making fake boots, shirts, vest and pants? Thanking you for your help,.......Michele

My friend found a free pattern online on how to make simple boots out of cheap thin vinyl, flip flops and glue. They were really cute, and simple to make.

I got my DD some cheep boots at a flea market for $1.00 and spray painted them. Shirts can be oversize white ones from a thrift store, for pants, cut off sweat pants, and a vest from a cut up sweat shirt.

Boots can be made easily with felt or vinyl. A seam up the back, a seam down the front then attach a piece of elastic across the bottom about where the front of the heel of the shoe is. They're worn over your shoes like spats. The front should have a curve in it so that it goes from the ankle down to about the bend in the toes or just a little shorter.
