We made the coasters (only we made them larger for hot plates)in the 40's when I was in Bible school. We used the medal tops that were on "sodas" then. I'm glad to see someone is doing that now. As for the plastic bottle tops - I'm going to try that too! Good idea!

I love this idea for the plastic bottle tops.

What a cool idea!!! you could also use it for a funnel if you don't have one.

Cool!
I just saw a product in a catalog that does the same thing, but of course this is much cheaper!
Thanks!

Yeah - no more spilled rice or beans, great idea. I guess I should wait until I drink the water and not dump it out. LOL. Thanks for sharing.
Just saw the coasters too. You guys have such wonderful "Go green" imaginations. Great!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I will stick with twist-ties, I only have about 3000 in my drawer.

If you used a rubber band to secure the excess bag top below the screw threads it would probably stay in place and you could just pour the item out using the bottle opening.

Or perhaps put one of those bzillion twist-ties around the plastic just below the threads and twist tightly. This really is such a cool idea especially for traveling. Thanks!
