My mom is turning 80 and I would like to make her a scrapbook. I would like to put a poem on the front cover. Does anyone perhaps have something appropriate? I will appreciate your help. Thanks.

What a nice idea! My mother has been gone since 1960 so I envy you still having your mother.

Here's a poem my kids gave me in a card:

Cherished Mother

Every day since I was born,
My mother cared for me.
Now that’s a lot of caring,
As anyone can see.

Please, Lord, protect my mother,
And keep her safe from harm,
For she is a cherished person,
With great wisdom, love and charm.

Lord, it’s my mother’s birthday
So please, help her to see
How much she means to us,
Her loving family.

Rina...How do you have time to do Scrapbooking? I do that also but the quilting is my 1st love for the last couple of years. LOL I just can't stop quilting so that I can get some Scrapbooking done.

A favorite: "My Mother" (by Anne Taylor) and you can probably Google it

I did something similar for my mother and used the lyrics to her favorite song.

Do you need scrapbook cover ideas?
When my best friend turned 65 I made her a little quilt of 65 different blue fabric squares (1 1/4 inch cut--3/4 inch finished). Made it 5 x 13 squares = 65 I alternated lights and darks so a checkerboard pattern was created. Then bordered it in a navy blue.

When a dear Swedish cousin of turned 90 I made her a Swedish flag of 90 different fabrics (blue and yellow)with 1 inch squares cut (1/2 finished) then wrote a poem to go with it (which I didn't keep) saying something to the effect each square represented each year in her life. She loved it and had the poem typed and had the flag quilt and poem framed.

As my own aunt, also second generation Swedish, is turning 90 I plan to do the same for her this summer.

Sorry no pics--done before I had my camera.
