Thanks Elise1 for that link! I don't know why it didn't even dawn on me to check a website for toxic plants.

Last weekon bing the front page was pointesettias, when you went into one of the info pages one of them said they are NOT toxic or poisonous. who to believe. they also said the flower part is the little yellow centers. maybe go back into bing and look it up. I don't know who to believe.

After living in Fla. for 17 years, I learned that, generally speaking, poinsettias are not poisonous--according to the U. of Fla. The sap does bother some people, but it is not supposed to poisonous. Oleander sap may not be so good; I kept it away from kids and pets. The sap from the Century Plant will raise blisters, so watch that tool.

It's hard to get rid of oleander. If you try to burn it, even the smoke is poisonous. Beautiful, but not something I want to grow.

Holly berries are poisonous to humans and all animals except for birds.

We have a large rhubarb patch -- we also turn the cows out to "mow" our grass in the summer. When they eat the rhubarb (leaves and all) we know it is time to turn them back into the field. The rhubarb leaves have never bothered them at all.
