So, I was out with the little ones a few days ago, down by the river.
Anyway, out of no where, my youngest has a rash on his ear, and eye and hands. He is itchy and they look blistery. Otherwise there are not any other symptoms. I have a call into the doctor, but I am wondering if he just got into something. Does anyone have any experience with poison ivy? How can you tell if you have it? Thanks in advance.... waiting for the doctor is driving me nuts. |
Lifebuoy soap takes care of poison ivy.

also original Dawn dishwashing soap...i know from personal experience
|
Never had it.

Is it red too? Just try to keep it dry and make sure you wash anything that might have come in contact with the plant, or even the kid. When we aren't having a drought , someone in the family gets it at least a few times a year. Good luck!

Yep, sounds like poison ivy. My BF gets it every time he is working in the yard. He got it so bad as a kid he got some kind of shots for it and now while he still gets it, it is not quite so bad. Wash it really good with soap and don't scratch or it spreads the oil and spreads the rash. Anti itch lotion helps.

ooh, his eyes? Good thing you've already called the doctor.
My sister had problems a few years ago, they were clearing an overgrown area and burning everything-you guessed it-soemone threw in a bunch of poison ivy weeds and my sister somehow inhaled it and it got into her eyes. She wound up in the hospital for a few days. I used to always get it when ever I went in the woods. |
Hope I never get it

Poor baby. Hope it not a severe case.
I've had it twice and had to go to the doctor both times. |
Never had it. The dr. I work for says shots for only the worst cases, steroids. All the above remedies work just have to find out what works for him. Need to wash everything even his shoes. That oil can remain active for a year or so if he touches his shoes again. If you had a dog with you, could have it on his coat. It's amazing how that stuff spreads. His eyes, poor thing. Bumps run in lines. Hope the dr. helps soon.
