power out

Well, this is our fourth day without power and it has been really hard staying cool with the heat being so bad. We have our freezer, router, and a fan hooked up to a generator on our motorhome keeping everything going. The gas stations are starting to get supplied again but the wait to fuel up is about an hour, the street lights are still out and most of the store are closed. The one's that are open, all the food in coolers are barracaded so hopefully people have a supply at home. We've been feeding our neighbors, they lost all their food,Ice is sold out,the ice plant is down and the stores that are open are sold out of bottled water.Hopefully, we get our power back soon but they are telling us it may be a week. We had big chunks of two of our maple trees come down and lots of debris everywhere you look. Trying to clean up the mess.It sure could have been a lot worse. Just wanted to update on what was going on here and let you know we were ok.

Oh dear, hope power will be restored soon -- been there, done that after a hurricane several years ago -- no fun

So sorry for what all you folks are going through. May it give you a little comfort to know that positive thoughts are coming your way. Always amazing to see what hell Mother Nature can raise.

Hang in there and remember it will get better! Our Roanoke VA office is closed due to no power.
At least when I lived in FL where we were used to Hurricanes coming though, you know they were coming
and could prepare. But this storm came out of nowhere! thanks for helping those you can.

All of this is so awful for you and the people who are loosing everything to fires. All going on at the same time. You all have my thought and prayers.

A good time for all of us to think ahead to what we can do to prepare for natural disasters like this. Keep water on hand, cash in small bills (CCs may not work), meds, keep your gas tank full.

We are still without power also and this heat doesn't help one bit.My prayers goes out to all those that are suffering from the power outages

praying for you all in the WV, VA, KY, MD areas. I am from the Charleston WV area. I still have family there. My sister is still w/o power but at least my mom has power back. The water company couldn't pump water because they were w/o power but that is at last back on now. My DMIL we haven't been able to get in touch with. She is 90 and lives alone. We did have the county sheriff's dept to check on her a few days ago but phones are still out in her area. I know that her neighbors will take good care of her though. Just keep remembering that this too shall pass.
