Priceless Gift
 

I own a dog hotel and I take photos of my clients pets. I can get some nice shots, sometimes I think that it is easier for me to get better photos than the masters can as the dogs are at ease here. Well, I just returned from the memorial service of a client who passed unexpectedly. The memorial was packed with friends, and actually a very small family. I cannot tell you how I felt when the widow, a cherished client, and the wife of 49 years, stood over the casket of her beloved husband. She pointed out the photo that I took of their precious poodle, perched over the open casket. It was important to her that their "little boy" was present at the funeral. I wish to let everyone know that for a mere 20 cents, you CAN give a PRICELESS gift. I was quite taken my this experience. Priceless, absolutely priceless.

For many people, their animals are their family.

My aunt's dog was at her service. The poor little thing grieved himself to death and passed away a few months later. He was cremated, as well, and his ashes added to hers. People who aren't dog people just don't understand the bond that forms between folks and their pets. She was elderly and couldn't get out, and had that little Chihuahua with her 24/7. We love our doggies, for sure!

One of my friends at church lost her father this summer. He had a little old dog that was his best friend. My girlfriend and her brother buried the dog with her father.

Our daughter and son-in-law recently (late November) had to put their beloved Doberman to sleep because of osteosarcoma, which was discovered when she broke her leg racing down the stairs (turns out the break was a pathological fracture.) Piper was cremated and her ashes brought home to the farm where she loved to run wild. We cared for our grandpet often, and miss her very much.
