Printer Puzzle

I have an older (in today's world - it is ancient) Epson R300 printer. It still has some ink left and I wanted to use it up.

When I was in Firefox and tried to print something from the QB, I got a notice telling me I needed more software.

When I was in Safari, it printed just fine and dandy.

It also printed when I was using Pages, and it just printed a page from Numbers.

???????

I am wondering if Firefox was the cause of my printer's crankiness?

Certainly sounds like it! Firefox has been having major issues for months now with lots of different things.

It could be. I installed Windows 10 on my computer just before the deadline. I wanted to verify that the printer would still work, so I tried to print something from the picture viewing software provided by Windows 10. It wouldn't print. It took me quite a while before I thought to try another application, and I was able to print from anything but the Windows 10 picture software. There were complaints from other users who discovered the same thing, with other printers. I finally downloaded a free picture viewing software, and it prints fine.

I'm running Firefox on a Window XP computer and I have no problem printing from the Board or the internet on my very old H/P Deskjet.

I upgraded to windows 10 and my printer won't print from the computer now, even with USB cord. Frustrating. I'm thinking of going back to windows 8, at least everything worked.

I was told that my printer would not be compatible with Windows 10, so did not install it. My daughter, who is very computer savvy, said I really didn't need Windows 10. I'm happy with my Windows 7 Professional.

SAme here. I have a new printer. My other one was a Brother and held it's own for over 10 years of printing something daily. Love my new one and it works just fine. DH uses Firefox and has no problem with it. I have IE and it works just fine.

This is really odd - - the Epson R300 was printing again - I put it back where I had it. Would not print.
Moved it back to my testing spot - it's working again.

The difference - the power strip that it's plugged in to.

??????????????????

I'm on Windows 7 or 8 (depending on which computer I'm on) and I don't intend to switch. I've had too many friends have incompatibility problems or problems reading SD cards so I don't see a reason to switch now. I'll wait until they make me do it :D
