Well, I got my padded envelopes today from the mailman.
I never laughed so hard when he came to my door with this HUGE box (about 3 foot tall big and bulky). I ordered 10 padded envelopes and they sent me 10 x 10 ... 100 padded envelopes. What to do ... what to do... so I unpacked them and padded about every corner of my sewing room with envelopes! I will never use that many envelopes in 100 years. Thankfully, when I went to the post office to mail off some packages today - my first one being sent off in a padded envelope - the postal lady at the counter was all excited to see them. She said they aren't allowed to order any for their post office....so I said, well I know where you can get some....I'm going to bring you a small crate of them. So I hope to hand off about 80 of them to my post office next week. BTW, they are very nice. |
Human error. That is funny.

Are you talking about the brownish/yellow envelopes that are lined with bubble wrap? Why can't the post office get them?

You can order them for free for delivery to your home...but the post offices will not be stocking them, like they do the other priority mail boxes/envelopes. I think they just wanted to be able to offer them at their post office, even though they aren't suppose to have them stocked there....so my thinking, is if I do a good deed and bring them some, then they will let me send my "stuffed" envelopes without giving me a hard time....hehehe |

One good turn deserves another. Post Office should be glad to be getting the business.

Count yourself blessed.
My padded envelopes come from Staples, and they're NOT free! But, they're the cat's meow for sending fabric. |
Barb, are they as large as the flat-rate Priority envelopes??
That's a funny story. I've done the same thing and just brought them to the post office as you're doing. I didn't need a zillion shoe box sizes lol |
I am waiting to get mine. How stupid is that, that the PO can not order their own supplies? Where is the customer service, if the customers can not get the full range of supplies, IN the post office. More gov't bureaucracy in action.
