Priority Mail

Priority Mail now comes with $50 insurance automatic. Good to know in case a package gets lost along the way.

I send 99% of my mail Priority Mail! It's there in 2 days. If you send it on a Saturday, it will get there on Tuesday. If you send it on Thursday it will get there on Saturday. They deliver late also.

I didn't know this but ordered a pkg of quilting clamps from mesew on 8-9-13, she sent it priority mail, was to be here on 8-12-13 have yet to receive it on 8-18-13. I checked at local P.O. on 12,13,14,15,16- seems my pkg. went to a town about 100 miles from us. She sent me a tracking number, it was also insured for $50.00, I just assumed she had insured it, glad to know it didn't cost her extra. Hopefully my pkg will be here tomorrow. Just have to wait and see. Who knows what ever happens with snail mail.

Good luck in collecting from the post office...They lost a package I sent to Denver two years ago. After having it insured for two hundred dollars. I had receipts for the Christmas presents I had in the box. I fought with them for a year and finally I gave up. I don't bother insuring anything anymore.

Out here in the boonies, you ask at the counter how long it takes for overnight delivery. The answer is "about five days". Somebody at the main city sorting station is messing up too. I have had Christmas presents and one other important package mysteriously show up two months late with no explanation.

You shouldn't have any trouble collecting on a lost package. you have to wait 30 days. But if there is damage, they are going to try and blame you for not packing it properly.
