I absolutely cannot find batteries that will last any time in my camera. Jim gets me the kind that re-charge and when I put them into the camera, and look again in a day and a half, they are already showing "down" by half. Is there ANY brand that will stay high for a while?

Geez, I'd like to know too. I have an Olympus that needs a charge every couple days. Supposedly, you're supposed to remove the battery while it's not "in use" but who does that? How can you get cute photos of the kids when you're saying "Hold on...I need to put the battery in!

I buy a lot of generic things, but have not had good look with generic rechargeables. I buy Kodak brand and they work well for me.
I just found out that rechargeable batteries are only made to recharge X amount of times... and I was told not to recharge them until they completely die.
Once they reach their max, they do not hold a charge for very long...

I buy the coppertop type (non-rechargeable) and I have the same problem. I thought it was just me.

I was using the rechargable kind & was having the same problem so I got some energizer Ultimate Lithum ones & put two in lst July and I'm still using them.

Same here. Drives me nuts!
We have the Kodak EasyShare Z712IS. The Kodak (nonrechargeable) battery that came in it worked fine. Lots of photos and lots of videos.
When it was gone we got a RadioShack non-rechargeable. Very few photos and almost no videos and it was gone.
We now have a generic rechargeable. I can get 10 to 12 photos on one charge.
I thought it must be the camera but maybe it is not.
I haven't tried the Kodak rechargeable but maybe I will have to use Kodak since it is a Kodak camera?

Just looked online and it seems everyone is raving about a battery called Eneloops. I will have to check into this....

I had no luck with rechargables, I get the most out of energizer digitals.

I have had 2 Olympus cameras and I loved the picture quality but I noticed the same thing...I was spending a fortune buying batteries because they were always dead when I wanted to take a photo. I had heard about taking the batteries out of the camera when not in use, but that is really a hassle. So, I sent the cameras to Goodwill and bought myself a Nikon that comes with its own rechargeable battery and charger. I love the fact that I have never had battery issues again. My rationalization was that the amt of money I was spending on batteries over the course of a couple years would easily pay for a new camera. It might be something you would want to think about doing.

I use Hybrid Rayovac charger and batteries. They last for days and I use it constantly. I think together they were about 20.00. Better than any I've ever used. :thumbup:
