This may be part of the problem I have when I quilt. There seems to be a quilt inspector in my way.

I think I have a problem.

I don't see a problem-I see a lap warmer LOL!!

BKinCO 01-31-2010 06:07 PM

Hey! I have a similar problem :)

Quilter7x 01-31-2010 07:22 PM

I usually have my quilt inspector helping me also. It can be tricky navigating the quilt thru the machine with him either on the quilt or at the back og the machine. :P My inspector is also my avatar. His name is Romeo.

LOL A help or a hindrance  either way...a real cutie :D:D:D

Awww kitty just making sure everything stays nice and flat while you quilt! :-D

I'm hand quilting a kingsize at the moment, in a lap frame and the other day, I was trying to turn it and it was really heavy, at first I thought my arms were getting tired then I realised that Barney Cat had snuggled down in the folds around my feet! Bless our little 'helpers'!

I have the same problem with my Jack Russell Russell. He loves to run my machine or he is in my lap trying to see how the quilt is coming out.

I have an inspector too, but he is not allowed in the sewing room.

Your Romeo looks so much like my cats. Both have gone to the Rainbow Bridge, but I love seeing Romeo because it reminds me so much of my cats. Please give Romeo some loving from me. :)

We had brother and sister cats, and Sissy was always "helping" me quilt. She used to sneak onto my sewing table when I wasn't looking. She got onto any piece of fabric anywhere it was, on the chair, the sewing table, the ironing board, anywhere! She'd give me her love-eyes and meow saying "hi mommy" and I could never get mad at her. :D

Kitties and quilts just seem to naturally go together. My Abby's job is to sleep on a stool next to me while I sew :-)

samroberts01 02-01-2010 01:37 PM

LOL.. that is just too funny!

Marjpf 02-01-2010 01:45 PM

I get to have 5 quilt inspectors. 3 cats and 2 dogs. Fortunately the cats only come in one at a time to "help". Seems like your inspector is just making sure the finished product will be perfect for a nap! Give a scritch behind the ears for me!

I decided it was necessary to keeps the kitties out of my sewing room when one of them decided they wanted to try to "catch" the needle while I was sewing. Thankfully, she didn't get to it in time, but it scared me enough that I keep them out of the room now. they paw at the door and want in so badly, but I would never forgive myself if I accidently sewed thru one of their paws. sniff sniff

Romeo was dump cat. Someone just dumped him in the neighborhood and he finally adopted us so we returned the favor. He's a wonderful mouser as a result of living outdoors for awhile. He's always inspecting my fabric when I'm working with it but he's also the most social of my 3 cats. When I was sorting the fabric, he was in heaven b/c he had so many piles to choose from in which to sleep or snuggle. He's also my blanket anchor in the morning along with my German Shepherd who sleeps with us nightly. Love my kitties!! :P

Yep, I have two quilt inspectors. One is usually on my lap. They both like the cutting table especially if there is fabric on it.

Your cats are so funny....! Love the pics of them!

Maybe you could talk to the cute little quilt inspector and tell him/her that this item is still in progress, and not ready to be looked over yet.

  I wonder if he will listen? He would probably lift his head, look at Littlehud, say "whatever" and put his head back down!
