Prom dress
 

I know this is a quilting board and I hope it's OK if I share a prom dress that I made for my beautiful granddaughter. She chose the fabrics and the pattern herself. I altered the pattern to make it the exact style she wanted. I even added pockets in the skirt and attached the overlay to them so the pockets hide in the folds of her dress. She loves it! Prom is tonight so I can finally show the finished dress. She is a happy girl and planning her dress for next year already.

She will have one of a kind dress for sure. No one else will have the same one. My Mother made my daughters dreses for prom and my wedding and bridesmaide dresses when I got married. She was one heck of a seamstress. Learned to sew in 4H and went from there. Love the dress.

One thing for sure there won't be another girl showing up in the same dress. Stunning. Wow. Thanks for showing it here where we appreciate all types of needlecraft. Your granddaughter is one lucky girl to have you. You can take a bow along side that gorgeous granddaughter.

Beautiful dress and beautiful Granddaughter. You did a fabulous work on that dress. I use to sew clothes for myself and two Daughters. Nothing fancy just everyday clothes. Oh, I forgot I did make oldest Daughter's graduation dress. Other Daughter didn't graduate.

The fabric she picked was the one you used for the overlay on your granddaughters prom dress. Of course it was sold out at JoAnn fabrics. Found it on Etsy for much less than JoAnn's. It is shipping directly from Shanghai. The pictures you posted really helped me to be sure I was ordering the correct fabric. I am so jazzed. Thanks
