The pics are actually from the Snow & Ice Festival in Harbin, China. I went there in 2006, the sculptures are just amazing!

That is such a fun carnival. We went about 10 years ago (hard to believe its been that long!!) when my daughter played in the Pee Wee Carnival Ice Hockey tournament. We took a day and went to the festival and boy are the ice sculptures cool...There's a lot of really cool stuff to see in Quebec...really a pretty city...but cold as hell.

it looks like the first ones were Canadian but I can see now the switch to China
