I got the idea from someone on this board to use non-roll waistband elastic in purse straps. It sounded like a terrific idea. Well I gave it a try. It looks fine on the top. The bottom has loose thread all over the place and in some spots the elastic has been pulled through. Does anyone know what happened?

the ends of the elastic inside the strap needs to be secured---usually with zig-zag stitching over and over the ends---then the ends of the straps should be inside a seam on the purse- where they are attached---everything enclosed-no raw edges to fray...
