Question about toaster oven
I have one that an 8 by 8 pan can fit in, so it is pretty small. How do you clean the inside of the oven. Easy Off says to keep away from heating elements. Mine is looking pretty greasy.

I'm sorry I wouldn't even bother cleaning a toaster oven, heck, I rarely clean our big oven. LOL
|
I would clean it and not throw it out. Google how to do clean it. I might try baking soda. on pinterest there are pins on how to do it.

I Googled and found this:

Put a small bowl of warm ammonia in it and let it sit for awhile. Then wipe with a paper towel. Migh need todo it again if very dirty.

I heard a hint many years ago for help in cleaning a regular oven. It could prove helpful here too. Take a little custard dish and put some ammonia in it. Let that sit in the toaster oven overnight with the door closed. It will take the fight out of the grease, and pretty much anything else.

I buy new small kitchen appliances when mine start to look like they need cleaning when I just cleaned it. The ones I use daily are cheap to replace. I've never tried to deep clean a toaster over. I had a counter rotisserie and I never could get it clean after the first chicken I cooked in it.

They are not hard to clean at all, I wipe mine out every few days and there is usually a tray underneath that can be removed. I know that ammonia is wonderful, you can actually put paper towels on the bottom and spray ammonia on it and leave it overnight. It will soften all yucky spots and then wash it off. Ammonia burns so wear gloves.

I put foil in the bottom of mine, so when something gets burnt on (usually cheese from toasting cheese sandwiches) I can just toss the foil without having to scrape away at thin sheet metal or something.
The glass door on mine is pretty ugly now, but it's still perfectly functional so I won't toss it. I'm too conscious of and concerned about waste for that. I don't throw things out just for being ugly. I'd have to get rid of half my pets if I did that! LOL I could probably take the door off and soak it in oven cleaner if it really bothered me, but I don't care enough to bother. Would rather be quilting than scrubbing, any day. :) |
Simple green has been a life saver for me many times. And on really stubborn stuff I have used Soft Scrub. It is pretty safe to use on more delicate stuff. Bar Keepers Friend is great too.

Find your manual and read it. If you lost it, find one on the net.

Thanks all. I vote for the ammonia and if that doesn't work-I'll just live with it.

I use baking soda, but I use my toaster oven like most people use an oven.
for years I lived in a basement with no kitchen so I used my toaster for baking everything from lasagna to turkeys, chickens and cakes. i'd be lost without it. I've lived here for 5 yrs now, and used my oven about 6 times. I hate to heat the whole house up when the toaster oven will do. |
