Question on length of straps on purse
I am making purses for Two girls in there late 30's and early 40. Do most girls want straps to go on shoulders? Thanks for your input.

Yes they do.

I think so too, as the "cross body" style is very popular now with most of us, regardless of age!
|
I usually make my straps about 18" so they are long enough to go over the shoulder but also to carry in hands. I agree that cross-body is also a good length.

Is it possible to make a strap with a buckle in it so that it can be adjusted?

yes and if it is a smallish purse, my girls (early 30's) like to put it cross shouldered so it doesn't slide off. I have learned to just make the strap adjustable so they have options. With totes, I make the straps so the tote fits under the arm starting just about elbow height. This way it can be held secure and yet not too long to be carried as a grocery bag if needed.

I like being able to have it under my arm, and under my coat. I have the vehicle purse, and the one I carry inside. Getting old means caring a lot more, carrying a tote like I did for my kids. Who knew? Lol.

I'm kinda late seeing your post but I make a lot of crossbody bags. I usually make the staps 60 inches long with an adjustable slider. I have tried numerous times to show you a bag I have made but I keep getting a message upload of file failed. I reduced it and still get this message.....umm....I don't know the problem.

Thanks Everyone for your help!
