Fishing is our thing! Of course, living on a lake helps! Yep, my DH likes for me to out fishing with him than inside quilting! I enjoy both! Fishing I got to do when I can, quilting I can do when it is too hot or cold or raining! We catch bass, bluegill, crappie and others!
Oh yea, and I bait my own hook if we aren't using lures!

I try to fish but never seem to catch anything which is really sad since I live on a river. Now I sit on my porch with some handwork and watch the fisherman that drift by pull them in.

lol My DH gave me an early birthday gift today, Lifetime Fishing License.
So yes, I love to fish, I really like to catch and I love just riding on the boat and being lazy.

I’m wondering how many other lady quilters on here enjoy fishing as much as quilting?

I love to fish...not ice fishing..but summer..I will drop anything to go fishing. I can quilt and fish all in the same day, as we only fish early mornings or late evenings. So I can quilt in between times... smile..

Here is the houseboat, on the lake, with me (if you look at the tshirt you can see how deep I went into the water) fishing all by myself - hubs went back to the slip to pick someone up. I also added a picture of how NO ONE is ever on the lake! The border between GA and SC is the Savannah River, which has been dams along it and it's flooded into a lake. There are state parks on both sides, your fishing license in one state works for either side. He is up there now thru Monday working on stuff on the boat. I would fish in a cookpot if someone wanted to fish! BTW right after that picture was taken I caught a bass that fed both of us that night.
For anyone wanting to do anything family oriented and you live near the border take a day trip to the river (lake). It chgs names up and down the river. We're at Plum Branch on Clarks Hill Lake. It is such an under utilized resource it's a shame.

Yes, I love fishing but the conditions have to be right....ocean fishing requires.....correct tides, weather conditions, moon, etc. Now if only the fish would bite. LOL And I do love quilting and at least it doesn't come along with too many requirements like fishing does.

We spent last Wednesday up at Walton Lake fishing! Yep. I fish. I catch. Can't say it's my favorite thing to do, I'm a homebody, and prefer the "great indoors", but I go to spend time with William! Of course, if, like happened Wednesday, I catch more than William does, it might not happen as often!

I grew up fishing and loved it. However after marrying a city slicker I gave it up. Not owning a boat also effected my lack of fishing. I bet there are alot of quilters who do enjoy fishing.

I haven’t fished much for the past 25 years. That’s when we moved from Colorado to Oklahoma, and my favorite fishing was in fast water with flies. I never was much of a bait fisherman, and there aren’t many trout streams here in Oklahoma.

MIL was originally from Michigan and now in SW Colorado. She loves her bait fishing. Uses a John Boat in summer, but never uses a motor, electric or otherwise, and she likes oars and rowing on small lakes. She hauls her little boat out to her favorite lake in the pickup and launches it all by herself to fish all day long, then loads it back up and drives home.

In the winter, when her favorite lake is frozen, she spends a good part of the day out on it with her snow shovel, hand operated ice auger, stool, and thermos full of coffee.
