quilts in movies

I saw "Almost Christmas" over the weekend.
they had such pretty quilts in all the rooms, even hanging on the walls.

What movie have you seen quilts being displayed?

Lynnie your post caught my eye! DH and I have a running game of "who can spot the quilt first". What started the game was a movie that was set in the mountains of North Carolina and was supposed to be set around 1900. It was about young girls in an orphanage and there were quilts on the beds. When a close up of a quilt was shown I could clearly see (due to DH's very large 65" tv) that the quilt was quilted on a long arm!
I started listing movies and then realized I should only list my favorites!
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Annie Hall, How to Make an American Quilt, You've Got Mail, Sarah Plain and Tall, Coat of Many Colors, The Santa Clause, The Color Purple, The Birdcage, Shane, Gone With the Wind and the Wizard of Oz.

I saw a show the other day (can't remember the show) and it was a very poignant scene with great emotional drama. DH and I both said at the same time: Oh look at that beautiful quilt.

I have seen a lot of quilts on a lot of shows, lately. Such as those mentioned above.

When I saw the movie, How to Make an American Quilt years ago, there was an outdoor scene where the female character had the quilt wrapped around her. As she was running or walking, she dragged the quilt in the dirt, yikes! I could be wrong, but that is what I remember.

Quilttiger, that movie is what started me on my quilting adventure. While watching it, I thought: I can do that !

Steel Magnolias ........in Mom's bedroom

Dances with Wolves......old torn one used while sleeping out on the plains

I know there are more just can't think of any.

My favorite is The Proposal with Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds and Betty White.
Google: Quilts shown in Movies. Tons of them.
