I do both knit and crochet. Love doing them both. Don't have preference.

Hi,
I do both knitting and crochet. Kniting is far easier for me, but sometimes the projects are more intricate.

I teach both informally at 2 senior centers, and the main ting I try to present is that it should be relaxing and fun, not a chore.

Now I have another reason to present for the benefits of carrying my work everywhere :)

How many people who have heart problems are aware that both of these things while doing them REGULATE your heart beat;

I crochet, but struggle with knitting, have tried, but just can't seem to get my fingers always to do what they're suppose to do and yes it is very relaxing, just as I find sewing different projects very relaxing.

i have knit and crochet all my life.... quilting came after the sewing, which was a necessity.... could not afford to "buy" nice gifts.. so i made them... I worked in a yarn shop with a wonderful woman who taught me to make my own patterns and block and finish sweaters... (that was my job until i had my first baby)....
sooooooo every night i'm knitting or crocheting... (i vary, depends on my hands).... i make American Girl Doll outfits and sell them "cheap" at our semi annula craft fair...
as for helping the "mind".. all my handwork has gotten me thru some pretty terrible times.... and now that things are great... i enjoy it even more... would love to post if people want to see some of my work...

I belong to a church knitting group (we also crochet and sew). I pick up my granddaughters from school and I always have something in the car to work on while waiting. I bring work in cars (ask the driver if they mind), planes, trains, anywhere I can pick up a needle or hook. Contrary to what most people think, you can bring knitting needles (and crochet hooks)on planes (scissors are a different problem); I have a pendant which I wear with a small stationary cutter inside. Go to www.tsa.org for their list of prohibited and permitted items.

Crochet alot knit some , when DH was diagnosed with prostrate cancer the only thing that kept me calmed down was crocheting 30-50 sets of potholders. Good thing the mind can only handle one thought at a moment!!

I crochet & can never feel comfortable knitting. I belong to a group called Peek-a-boo Hat Club at work. We crochet bonnets for babies born in our hospital. My target is 30 hats per month & I am on my 446th hat in 22 months, not meeting my target due to holidays & vacations. I enjoy crochetting while watching tv.
