Re-purpose and re-use
1 Attachment(s)
I have been busy over the last couple of weeks sewing aprons. The co-ordinator of the charity that I sew for asked if I could help make adult aprons from tablecloths. I was handed 25 tablecloths which had hardly been used and were headed for the dump. She washed the fabric and I sewed them up. From each tablecloth I was able to cut the apron as well as the neck and waist ties. She did request no front pocket on the aprons.

They turned out very nice!
Why no pockets? |
What a wonderful way to re-purpose these table cloths. I confess that as much as I recycle rarely does something come my way that lets me re-purpose the way you have these table cloths. Job well done.

A project close to my heart ! I absolutely love-love-love repurposing things.
Glad you had a bit of help on the project.

Wonderful that you were to make such nice aprons from fabric that was going to be tossed. But, why no pockets? It seems like pockets would be a useful addition.
What a great job you did on re-purposing those table cloths. I bet everyone will enjoy using them. Thanks for your resourcefulness!
well now, those are just plain cute! good going.
Well done!

"Why no pockets" was the question I also asked as I think every apron needs one. Those wearing them have pockets in the uniforms that they wear under them so she thought it was unnecessary. It did speed up the sewing process though.

great save of the tablecloths!
Very nice, good of you to make them.
Great job...what discourages me is that we are such a throw a way society that we think we can just toss usable items and not pay the consequences at a later time. A wonderful save on your part!
You are so clever! They look great and ready to be put to work!
Well done! Kudos on re-using the tablecloths!
These are really cute. I applaud you for repurposing the tablecloths--and for sewing 25 of the exact same thing with the same fabric. That takes some dedication.
Great job with those.

I think the aprons look great. Good job. I'm not much of a recycle or repurpose type person as I use to be.
Great recycling project.
Great job!

Strange! How would you like have to reach under you apron to find - anything?
Maye the person that "gave out" the project never had to work in those same circumstances? |
Nice aprons.

Well done! Personally, I never would have guessed that these were tablecloths before. Wonderful save!
