Recipe T-towels

I made 7 of these for a wedding gift for my niece. One signature recipe from each of her 7 aunties.
I embroidered the recipe, a different red work chef, and added fabric bottom borders.

What a wonderful gift!! I got a set of appliqued tea towels (no recipes though) when I was married 68 years ago and I still treasure them. Very Special.

What an intricate thing to do....did you have to trim those connecting threads between each character?

I typed out the words in a way so the jump stitches were only across the bottom of the words so there weren't so many to trim. Not a problem.

What a beautiful and thoughtful gift! If they were mine, I would never use them for fear of staining them. They would make great art for the kitchen framed.

Kathy T. 01-09-2016 03:41 PM

What a fantastic idea - I would frame them and hang them in my kitchen as heirlooms!

Wow. It only took 2 hours to complete one including making the patterns and adding borders. It was very easy.
