When my mom came to visit me to help me "purge" my house of unneeded items we decided to recover my dining room chairs :) Not only did we recover them BUT they WERE held together with bungee cords that we removed and replaced with the screws needed :)

It was a hand-me-down table and chairs but now it has fabric and tablecloths (on sale at Wal-mart) that coordinate with my wall portraits in my kitchen :)

Glad you did that! I've done it many times in the past, went from dining chairs to a swivel chair to a sofa! I loved doing the upholstery until I just couldn't handle things anymore.

We are debating on if it is worth doing my two couches. I just can't help but think we could find a slipcover that I like that will work great for less than it would cost us for fabric and labor ... still debating but I know that when the baby gets here in March I will have some type of recovered couches :)
