  It is gone.
Totally dried up. I don't ever think I have seen it without some water. I guess almost 50 days of 100 plus temperatures will do that.

QuiltnNan 07-21-2011 02:22 PM

Yikes!

jaciqltznok 07-21-2011 02:23 PM

I will be driving through tomorrow..will be interesting to see how much water is GONE all the way down to Ranger, TX!

Sunflower Girl 07-21-2011 02:24 PM

I've seen it so high it was almost touching the bridge . . . I hope this Texas drought ends soon. We've had only 1.41 inches for the entire year here.

Oh My! The weather sure is odd in so many places :(

craftybear 07-21-2011 02:45 PM

It is a horrid summer in Texas; really the whole year as far as lack of rainfall.

Fellow quilters... I've been the WORST whiner about the heat... even joking about my whining melting... But I just noticed a post on FB reminding us that we're hot, but we're not having to wear full battle gear (70+) pounds and worry about someone shooting at us or driving over an explosive device...

I was humbled... A friend whose son is at war says the daily temperature is close to 130 degrees...

no more whining for me...

Barb44 07-21-2011 06:40 PM

I feel really ashamed of complaining about 5 days of heat when you all down south have had 50 days over 100 and are totally drying up. Up here the Missouri River is flooding all over the place and the Red River is dry. Nothing makes sense any more.

quiltingme 07-21-2011 06:45 PM

We are having water main breaks due to the heat...I think I am quite ready for fall!

Well, if you can spare it, I would sure appreciate being able to borrow about 2-3 days worth of rain & river water. ;)

blueangel 07-21-2011 07:36 PM

This has been a horrible summer. I am ready for Fall.

wolfkitty 07-21-2011 09:37 PM

The river in our town is going down, too! Usually, too much is our problem, but not now.

BETTY62 07-21-2011 09:40 PM

Wow. That is bad.

jaciqltznok 07-22-2011 02:20 PM

I went through Lawton at 11:50 am today...I tell you what, there is NO water anywhere...some ranchers have dammed up their streams and I saw empty stock ponds...so sad...and NO green anywhere either..even trees are sad and crops...dang...pretty rough summer after a really harsh winter!

Ranchers are selling their cattle in record numbers because of the water and the dead grass. It is really bad and it will affect a lot of people in the supermarkets down the road.
